As businesses and individuals there is the drive to consciously do more to support the future of our environment, contribute towards plastic reduction and consume more responsibly. We all aim to help reduce the effects of climate change and advocate for eco-design solutions and when given a sustainable option we know that it ‘should’ be the better choice to make.

Eco-friendly, recycled PET (post-consumer plastic waste) and responsibly manufactured fabrics have been slowly making their way into products, textiles, and fashion for the past few years and with market demand for these increasing, suppliers and manufacturers across all industries are taking this on board and adapting for the future with ecological options increasingly more readily available in the marketplace; but what if your ethical options are limited in colour and design?

When we first had the inclination to make this ethos the core of our new collection, we discovered there are some consumers that were shocked that roller blind fabric is even plastic (as polyester)! However for most, if given a greener option that was the same quality and price range, 31% would automatically choose it over another fabric. A further 46% would prefer to be environmentally friendly but they would remain design focused and only go for the eco-fabric if it also matched their style. Two years and a pandemic later, the swing towards style led home improvements and increased sensitivity to the environment has undoubtably increased these statistics.

Daring to be different in true Excel style, we went all in and Eco Elements- the biggest range of recycled fabrics and eco-friendly fabrics in the industry, was born. Designed with sustainability in mind, we wanted it to be the easy choice for everyone.

It’s our most personal collection yet; a diverse range of confident design, classic plains, and luxurious textures. With energy saving ASC, Blockout options and all Design Gallery fabrics woven from recycled plastic waste and fire retardant, we believe we have covered all bases.

Just in case, we are introducing a bespoke colour service across 8 of our new designs. Ordered as a one-off digital print, the background or pattern can be colour matched to any fabric, paint colour or pantone. We really don’t want anyone to have to choose between their aesthetic and a sustainable future.
