The UK’s only exhibition for the blind and shutter industry
The British Blind & Shutter Association Show only comes around every 3 years and for those who you buy, sell, manufacture or design blinds, shutters, or awnings it is an unmissable industry event. Excel, along with around 60 other exhibitors from all over the world attended the Coventry Building Society Arena to showcase new products, components, machinery collections, innovations, and developments.
The face of Grand Designs, Kevin McCloud also attended as a special guest to deliver a Q&A and meet and present the 6 available Awards. To say we were overjoyed to receive two of those is an understatement, and particularly the coveted Best New Product/Service for our Eco Elements Collection.
We'd like to thank all the visitors to our stand for helping us enjoy a great show, after the pandemic delay it was great to finally meet and greet so many people over the 3 days of BBSA2022 and we felt the excitement for so many new products and collections.
Our (now) Award Winning Eco Elements Collection- is the biggest range of recycled fabrics and eco-friendly fabrics in the industry was Designed with sustainability in mind and we wanted this to be reflected in the ethos at the exhibition too. Aiming to use as few disposable elements as possible and removing the 'plastic' from giveaways without breaking the bank was a challenge. Visitors were treated to Eco Friendly gift bags containing mini desktop succulents and recycled pencils with plantable seeds in the tip and non-alcoholic cocktails were served on the stand created to have a beach bar vibe reflective of cleaner beaches and oceans thanks to using ocean waste to recycle into blind fabrics.
The book itself has been produced with almost zero plastic, with a recycled ocean waste blended cover and non-laminated dividers it will also be recyclable at the end of its life so that its contents and composition will go some way towards closing the cycle of plastic production and be a positive contribution to a reduction in carbon emissions in the manufacturing industry. We also use a certified World Land Trust, carbon balanced print supplier to ensure the integrity of all the printed material within the book and we are supporting whiteroseforest.org by planting a tree for every book sold.
